This kit represents LJ-5B which was launched on April 28, 1961. The resin parts are solid, with crisply molded details and no visible airholes. All parts are still on their pour plugs. The detail in this kit is really nice! Two photoetched tower parts are included, since if you're like me, you'll misfold the first one. Make sure you study the instructions and reference photos to make sure you don't fold it inside out. You will need to provide the aerodynamic spike atop the escape rocket yourself with a piece of 0.5 mm wire or rod. The instruction sheet includes a short program history, exploded assembly drawings and a three view painting and decal scheme.
