The resin kit parts are crisply molded, with no airholes and a very
smooth surface finish. The main suit is solid, with only the upper
half of the astronaut represented. The some of the smaller resin
parts still have slight pour-plugs attached, but they snap right off.
Very little cleanup will be necessary for the resin parts. The metal
parts are on rectangular plugs and represent drill bits, wrench heads,
and saw blades on the end of the mechanical arms. The arms are
articulated and can be left unglued at the shoulder and elbow joints
if snapped gently together. The clear vacuformed canopy is quite
thick, but very clear. The upper hatch is removable to reveal the
interior. The instructions include an illustrated parts checklist, a
history of the concept, step by step illustrated assembly instructions
with text and painting guides. A cutaway schematic based on Wernher
von Braun's original drawings is also included. An RM1 mission patch,
a brass rod and heavy resin base complete the kit.
