Quick Looks

Manufacturer: Historic Wings
Name: Goddard's Rocket (1926)
Scale: 1:72
Kit contents: 18 photoetched parts (including extras)
3 metal parts
grass matting
insulated wire
Comments: This is another tiny kit from Historic Wings. This kit includes parts not just for the rocket, but also for the launch stand. White metal parts provide the rocket's fuel tank, rocket motor and Dr. Goddard himself. There's a faint seam that will need a bit of cleanup on these parts. Photoetched parts are provided for the launch stand and rocket frame. Several spares are included for some of the parts. Also included on the photoetched fret is a nameplate for a base and a template for bending the launch stand to the proper angle. A length of red insulated wire (missing from my kit, but easily replaced locally) represents the oxygen umbilical. A square of grass matting is included to give Dr. Goddard and his rocket a place to stand for display. The instruction sheet includes a short history, a parts lists, a diagram of the photoetched fret to identify the parts and detailed multi-step assembly instructions.
