Boy's Life, October 1965
1/48 scale Mercury and Gemini kits
Boy's Life, December 1969
1/96 scale Apollo LM/CSM combo kit

Both of these items were available in the 60's for 10 cents!  The deal was, you mailed in the dime in a "Coin Carrier Coupon".  Then you received your model, and each month thereafter you received a different science kit for $1.00.

Below: Closeup of part of Apollo ad

Above: 3 color images of the flyer from a magazine.
On the left is the fanous coin carrier coupon to which you taped your dime.  Cool!
