Shutter string extension
Since the shutter string won't reach the base of the Rastrocam after
being passed through the body tube, I tied a piece of shroud line cord
long enough to reach past the notches in the stage coupler on the base
of the Rastrocam. For flight, I cock the string by pulling it through
the notches and put the Rastrocam into the carrier rocket's tube.
Friction between the stage coupler and the body tube will hold the
string until ejection. The dent in the body tube near the string's
exit hole was caused by a fall from several hundred feed after the
parachute separated from the camera. This thing's pretty rugged, but
I don't recommend that type of recovery...
