This kit depicts the launch vehicle for the Pioneer 1 probe. The kit parts are beautifully cast with crisp details, a smooth surface finish and no visible airholes. All parts, except for the engine nozzles, are solidly molded. The engine bells are nicely hollowed out. All parts are still attached to their pour plugs. For complete accuracy, the modeler will have to add wire or rod not supplied with the kit for the turbo exhaust braces. The modeler will also have to supply wire or rod antennae on the Able, but according to all the reference photos I've seen only four are needed rather than the eight specified in the instructions. You won't use all of the decals included, since the decal sheet is common to all the New Ware Thor kits. In addition to the graphical assembly instructions, the instruction sheet includes a short program history and a four view painting and decaling guide.
