Lockheed X-7

The X-7 served as a supersonic and hypersonic ramjet engine testbed. According to Jay Miller's The X-Planes, X-1 to X-45, a total of 61 X-7A, X-7A-3, X-7B and XQ-5 vehicles were built. The XQ-5 was used as a high altitude, high speed target drone for the Navy's Talos anti-aircraft missile. It was longer than the standard X-7 and had different wings. The first seven shots photos of an XQ-5, but since it was derived from the X-7, it's ok...

The final six shots are of a recently restored X-7 on display in the John P. Stapp Air and Space Park at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo.
