Bell X-1E
The X-1E was actually modified from the #2 X-1. Changes included a thinner wing, a more efficient turbopump and a modified canopy influenced by the Douglas D558-2 Skyrocket. The X-1E is now on display on the pylon in front of the NASA Dryden Flight Research Facility at Edwards AFB, California.
