The parts have some pinholes that will have to be filled, otherwise
the castings are very good with minimal flash and fine details. With
the exception of the third stage part (which is hollowed out), the
resin parts are solid with a smooth surface finish. The photoetched
trusswork between the first and second stage make this an improvement
over the earlier Rho Models Proton releases. The stiff wire is used
to represent the strapon tank braces and can also be used to replace
the out-of-scale fuel lines on the first stage engines, but only if
you really want to... The instructions include a short history of the
launch vehicle, text assembly instructions and side-view drawings. A
text painting guide is also included. This kit could also represent
the Proton-Vega configuration if you choose
not to apply the water-slide decals.
