The ABS tubing represents the main Redstone body with resin parts for the engine section, fins, Mercury capsule, escape tower and escape rocket nozzles. The resin parts are crisply molded with fine raised rivet detail on the Redstone engine section and no evident airholes. The fins have a really slick surface finish and are molded with the airvanes and exhaust deflector vanes in place. The shingle detail on the Mercury capsule seems a bit heavy, but may tone down with painting. The escape tower assembly is built using a photoetched part and the resin tower and nozzle parts. A steel pin represents the aerodynamic spike. The instruction sheet consists of grapical assembly drawings and a painting and decaling guide.
