This kit depicts the booster for the initial Soviet Luna probe and first manmade probe to escape earth orbit. The resin parts are solid, with crisp details and finely engraved panel lines. The rocket engine nozzles are nicely hollowed out. All parts are still on their pour plugs. The more delicate parts, including the booster braces, will need to be removed carefully. There's also some flash around the nicely molded and cast interstage structure. There are no visible airholes in my parts. The photoetched parts are provided for the fins and various antennae. The decal sheet provides all the stencil markings for the booster and shroud. The instructions include a short program history, a reference list and multi-step illustrated assembly instructions, with insets for the photoetched details. A painting and detailed decal placement guide finishes out the instructions.
