This kit represents the launch vehicle for the Zenit 2 spy satellite, flown as Cosmos-120 in June 1966. The resin parts are solid with crisply molded details, finely engraved panel lines and a smooth surface finish. All of the engine bells are nicely hollowed out. There are no visible airholes on my parts, but there is some flash on the more delicate parts that will need careful removal. All parts are still on their pour plugs. The instructions show the main core stage as a single part, but it has been cast as two parts in my kit. But the savvy modeler can easily figure out how to put them together. Extra resin and photoetched parts are included, along with some photoetched parts that aren't intended for use in this kit, since the parts fret is common to all of New Ware's R-7 kits. Also included is a set of the R-7 stencils. The instructions include a short program history, a multi-step graphical assembly guide with inset details, and a painting and decal guide.
