This kit is intended to be used with any Airfix Saturn V kit to convert it into the first Saturn V flight vehicle: Apollo 4. The kit contains replacement parts for the Airfix kit along with additional detail parts to make a more accurate model. Replacement parts include batted F-1 engines, SLA/SM/BPC/LES, and fins. The resin parts, with the exception of the F-1 engines, are solid. All parts are still attached to their pour plugs, with most of the parts having their ID numbers molded into the plugs. The parts are molded with crisp details, a smooth surface finish and no visible airholes. In some cases you are given the choice between using resin, photoetched, or kit parts. Not all photoetched parts will be used. The CD contains 62 photos of Saturn V displays at Huntsville and Cape Canaveral to use for reference. The instruction sheet consists of detailed drawings showing where the replacement/detail parts go on the Airfix kit. You will need to do some surgery on the kit, particularly for the first stage thrust structure and heat shield.
