The resin parts are solid with crisply molded details and insulating blanket detail molded in place. All parts are still attached to their pour plugs. There is also some flash around the smaller parts, which are identifed by a letter molded into their plugs. Parts are included to build the model with or without the Castor upper stage used to put the spacecraft into orbit. A set of parts represent the folded solar panels if the upper stage is in place. Otherwise, the panels are built using the photoetched parts and decals, which are identified by numbers printed next to each decal. The instructions consist of front, rear and starboard elevation drawings for both options, supplemented with some text. Each drawing also includes painting and decal location instructions.
