This is the 2011 re-released Revell 1/48 Apollo Lunar Spacecraft kit using the same molds from 1968. It depicts Apollo 17. There is a whole lot of scratchbuilt items on the Command and Service Modules and the interior of the SLA. In addition to some more scratch building, the LM received the aftermarket update set from New Ware. This is the LM that was included in the kit and I wanted to have the foldable Landing Gear to keep that feature. You can also see the folded LRV on the side and the MESA is positionable. The BPC was completely built from scratch as well as the CSM’s Hi Gain antenna. On the CSM and LM I've used Rick Sternbach’s, superb SMS decals.

The last image is the 'before and after' modifications. I want to display these two builds together in an upcoming show... Just to show the other model builders the kind of dreck we Real Space modellers have to start out with ... 1968 molds, indeed!

Here’s the link to the step-by-step build on ARC.
