The TTV-1 was used to test the parafoil concept of recovering a Gemini capsule onto land. Unfortunately, the test program suffered many setbacks and delays which caused the parafoil project to be dropped. The test vehicle is now on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at the National Air and Space Museum annex near Dulles Airport.
