2014 Austin Scale Model Show

The 2014 Austin Scale Model Show was held on a beautiful October day in the Norris Conference Center in north Austin. I ran into David Carlton when I arrived: he was entering two Vanguard models. I fully intended to finish a model for the show this year, but I screwed up the paint job and didn't have time to strip it and re-do it. But I went anyway and had a great time visiting with David and seeing Steven Rogers, a founder of AARG, who was selling a boatload of model rockets. I didn't stick around for the awards ceremony, but David emailed me later that evening saying he got first and second place in Real Space and the Best Science Fact/Fiction award along with the trophy for the show theme: Fantastic Firsts! And to prove it (not that I would ever doubt him), he sent me photographic proof:

The photos

I forgot to set my camera to not save everything in raw format, so I filled up the memory card before I could shoot everything in the show. I missed the sci-fi, figures, ships, the armor and the junior entries. But I got most everything else. I had to dodge judges, so that's why things seem a bit out of order.
