Quick Looks

Manufacturer: Anigrand Craftswork
Name: Hiller X-18
Scale: 1:72
Kit contents: 32 resin pieces
3 clear vacuformed pieces
Comments: The resin parts are crisply molded with finely engraved panel lines and a smooth surface finish. The only airholes on my part are on the exhaust pipe ends. The fuselage is cast into four parts: the forward fuselage right and left halves and the rear fuselage top and bottom halves. Two propeller blades were broken off of their hubs in my kit, but they can be repaired easily. The only interior detail included with the kit is a couple of ejection seats, control columns, instrument panel and center console. The vacuform canopy and window parts are very thin and quite transparent. Most of the resin parts have been removed from their pour plugs, but there's still some minor cleanup work that needs to be done, particularly along the seams and around the removed pour plugs. You will need to supply two short pieces of 1mm styrene rod to represent the wing hydraulic pistons. The instruction sheet consists of a short program history, a parts list with exploded assembly drawing, a photo of the real aircraft on its test stand, and a three view painting and decaling guide.
